Farrells lands major Ealing regeneration scheme

Farrells, together with Galliford Try Partnerships, has been appointed by Ealing Council to work on the regeneration of Perceval House, the council’s headquarters.

Besides the council offices, the new mixed-use scheme will be delivering 471 new homes, 50% of which will be affordable. The new development, worth £275m, will also benefit from a new library and customer services centre, new retail premises and residential and commercial parking.

Laura Mazzeo, Managing Partner at Farrells, said: “At Perceval House, tapping into Galliford Try’s contractors experience, we have developed a highly innovative design solution. Our scheme allows new council offices to be built in the first phase, right on Uxbridge Road, by demolishing half of the existing council building and relocating staff into the remaining half. This also enabled us to deliver in phase one much needed affordable housing for Ealing Council on the existing car park at the north of the site. True to Farrells belief that ‘place’ is the client, the location of the new office building and its sensitive architecture playfully responds to the Portland stone of the Grade II Listed Town Hall and the Art Deco “Filmworks” cinema. It will create an attractive and welcoming civic square for Ealing town centre whilst acting as a catalyst for further regeneration.”

Following detailed design works and public consultation, the scheme is expected to go to the council’s planning committee next spring. Work could start on site by September 2018, with completion by 2025.
